Meet the Team
Every year Oxjam is run entirely by volunteers. They are willing to give up hours and hours of their time and energy to help such a good cause - we think they deserve a mention!
Mel – Take
over Manager
Mel was the Marketing co-ordinator from 2011, and enjoyed it so much she applied for the manager role this year and got the job! She has been the lead singer for a local covers band for 3 years, playing in many of Coventry’s music venues as well as performing gigs and open mic’s as a duo. She wants to build on the success of last year and really build Oxjam’s profile in the city and of course raise a ton of dosh.
Production Team

Jamie – Production coordinator
Jamie was the Production co-ordinator last year. Jamie is a professional sound engineer, and has worked with bands such as Feeder, Athlete and The Enemy, and has engineered at The Royal Albert Hall, so needless to say he knows what he’s doing! He’s also in a band himself and regularly plays in and around Coventry as well as managing Coventry band ‘The Ripps’.
Tom
Tom AKA Carter is working as an apprentice engineer at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry.
He helps out at many charity events throughout the city and is proud to be helping Oxjam Coventry this year as well as in 2011.
Chris
An experienced sound engineer and in his spare time will be playing around with electronics and sequencing music. Chris engineered for Shelton Square for our Buskathon and is looking forward to helping out with our future events.
Volunteers

Oxjam Coventry have the pleasure of working with Edward Taylor Aka “Side Show” who's the powerhouse behind Digital-Flow. Digital-Flow is the One Stop Shop ready to deliver the highest
quality services, whether you need video, photography, graphic or web
design. You will catch this talented photographer at some of our fundraisers and the Takeover Event. Please click on the picture for information on Digital Flow.
Simon
Fresh from organising concerts for the recent Earlsdon Festival, Simon
is helping us source venues for October 27th. He also makes no-budget
videos for Lieutenant Pigeon but so far has been unsuccessful in
persuading them to come out of retirement for Oxjam!
Ana
Ana is from Salamanca, Spain and despite only being in the country for 4 days she was already volunteering for Oxjam! Ana is studying at Coventry University and is really keen to improve her English skills and gain experience in events whilst volunteering with us
Amy
Amy designs our brilliant posters that you can see all over our website and facebook. She also bakes brilliant cakes for us.
Matt
Matt is a PCSO by day (and night) so his experience working with the public means he is great informing the public about the great work of Oxjam and making sure we are all keeping the noise down!
Paul
Paul was our manager last year and although he didn’t feel he could put the time in this year due to other commitments he couldn’t bear to tear himself away from getting involved! Paul led the team to success last year putting on our first Oxjam in Coventry
Nikki
Nikki was our
fundraising co-ordinator last year. She came to us with a wealth of raffle prizes and organised our
Zumbathon! Nikki is also a singer and piano player.
Hannah
Hannah bakes great cakes and is a trained First Aider as she is a qualified Podiatrist. She is also
musically minded and has some experience with the technical side of
concerts
Sally
Sally is currently reading American Studies at
the University of Warwick. She took part in numerous charity events
during my school years, such as a small cake stall to raise funds for
CAFOD, and also volunteered to take telephone donations for Children In
Need in 2009 while working at a Barclaycard call centre. Last year, she
spent nine months living and studying in Argentina as part of her degree,
and witnessed the inequality and social problems in Buenos Aires which has
inspired her to get involved in volunteer work again
